Artemis In June 1985, Artemis Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence was established as Artemis House. Founded by a small group of women, often working without pay, Artemis was to provide services beyond the traditional housing and safety offered by shelters. In addition to helping people in crisis, Artemis has become a community resource for creating a coordinated response to domestic violence. Because all systems must work together to protect victims and hold batterers accountable, Artemis. The American Veterans Heritage Center The American Veterans Heritage Center is a non-profit corporation with an exciting mission. They honor the accomplishments of veterans while preserving a priceless piece of national and local history - the Soldiers Home located at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Dayton History Dayton History is Montgomery County’s official historical organization. Consisting of Carillon Historical Park, the Archive Center, Hawthorn Hill, Patterson Homestead, Old Court House, and Memorial Hall, Dayton History brings the past to life to understand the present and inspire the future by collecting, preserving, interpreting, presenting and promoting the region’s past. The Ombudsman Since it's creation in 1809 the Swedish Ombudsman Office has been the model for the public sector Ombudsman, and set the definition that is still accepted today: a public official appointed by the legislature to receive and investigate citizen complaints against administrative acts of government. Ombudsman is a gender-neutral term, used throughout the world by women and men who hold the office. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton Dayton Ohio Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to develop communities with people in need by building, renovating, and remodeling houses so that there are decent and affordable homes in safe communities where families can live and grow. The Noble Circle Project Is committed to creating an intimate and caring community thriving beyond cancer that brings hope, inspiration, empowerment and healing. The retreats, classes and support groups focus on nutritional education, healing techniques which complement traditional cancer treatments and friendship.
