Social Media is a powerful force on the internet today. Sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter have developed large followings throughout the world. DATV can teach you how to harness the power of the internet to drive viewers to your program and your website.
In these sessions you will learn the techniques and software needed to effectively use Social Media to distribute and promote your program.

Converting Video For The Web & Blip TV

This class will demonstrate how to use free software called Freemake to take a video from a DVD and make it into a smaller file that can be uploaded to the web for display on Blip.TV
You will also learn how to properly upload a video to a website called Blip TV. You can then create an online video channel or network of your shows that anyone can access, or than can be place the videos into a website. The class will cover uploading, creating the layout, connecting to other websites and creating playlists, among others technical tidbits.
Blip is a website specifically designed to host longer, full length television programs.

You Tube is currently still the most popular video hosting site on the web. This course will walk you through creating an account, designing your YouTube page, connecting with other users, uploading your video and finding ways to get others to watch your work.
YouTube currently has a program length maximum of 15 minutes.
Make your own Website using Blogger

This course will take you step by step through the creation of a website created on the "blog" site blogger. Though primarily used as a blogging or journal site there is practically unlimited uses and creativity this resource offers in the area of media interactivity with this course walking you through how to use those tools.

This course will teach you how to get started on Facebook, one of the most popular and easiest to use social network sites. It will also show you how to use the various tools and media involved and how to avoid the potential security risks and other pitfalls of putting personal information onlin.
